Where is the best place to stay in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria?
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, capital of the Canary Islands, together with Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is not what you would call a small city. With a population of almost 400,000, it is in fact a large and extensive city, which also happens to boast one of the world’s best urban beaches: Las Canteras beach.
If you are planning on visiting one of the many island towns, where good weather is guaranteed all year long, what better than staying right on the seafront. The long beachfront promenade, which runs along the whole stretch of the beach, is the heart of the city and is a perfect place for a nice walk, a run or even sitting in the sun, enjoying the good weather on one of the many verandas belonging to the numerous bars and restaurants. The evening activity at Las Canteras definitely doesn´t get any quieter as people continue to promenade, stopping to have a drink on one of the terraces.
Just a short distance away you will find the Santa Catalina Park, which is one of the many other appealing areas in Las Palmas and is where you can find the bus station, which will take you to the airport so you can enjoy other destinations that Gran Canaria has to offer. El Puerto and el Muelle, the city´s largest shopping centre is also a stone’s throw away on foot.
