If you want to be close to all of the city´s main attractions, the best area to stay in Palermo is the city centre. The centre of Palermo can be divided into two different areas: The new and elegant centre, which encompasses the area around the Via Ruggiero Settimo between the Politeama Theatre and the Massimo Theatre, and the historical centre which is the area that follows on towards the south, where Via Ruffiero Settimo turns into Via Maqueda.
