Bavaro, the best area to stay in Punta Cana
Bavaro is one of the major areas for tourism in the area, which has a brilliant selection of resorts to pick from with the majority overlooking the sea. Bavaro is only a short trip from Punta Cana international Airport with many shuttle buses and taxis taking you from the airport to Bavaro as well as hotel transfers arranging your transport. This neighbourhood is super safe and has lot so of tourist police on hand, though it would be very surprising to ever have to speak to them unless you want to know how to get to a specific place.
Without a shadow of a doubt the first thing that you will want to do after finding your superb hotel is to run to the beach and you shouldn’t have to go too far as most of the hotels are found only a short distance away.
The beaches in the country are some of the best in the world and the beach at Bavaro is no exception, which has some of the purest and softest sands as well as some of the cleanest waters to swim in. The scenery here is one you will never forget and is certainly one that you have seen on postcards, which give the exact picture of paradise with the glorious sun, divine palm trees, exquisite sand and sparkling sea water. You can hire sun loungers, snorkel gear, diving equipment, stand up paddle boards, surfing gear, jet skis, sea kayaks, paddle boats, sailing boats and much more.
Other things to do include going to the local theme park, Manati Park, where you will experience various wildlife shows including dolphins, seals, parrots and horses and there are spectacular gardens that are home to a great variety of flowers, trees, plants and much more. There are also tours that are arranged at most hotels, with some trips taking you to see typical Dominican homes, authentic plantations, horse riding as well as fishing trips, whale watching, swimming with dolphins and sharks, diving trips and coast exploring. For shopping, head to the beachfront of the resorts as the majority of them are found here and is where you can buy all your essential needs for the beach and generally for you holiday with a good supply of supermarkets, banks, pharmacies and lots of beach shops.
Again, for restaurants, bars and clubs, this is the area to come to as there are an ever increasing number of international places opening up that offer something for everyone. The hotels here are generally low rise buildings and are relatively new with most of them providing breath-taking views, spacious rooms and excellent customer service. Most resorts offer brilliant facilities too like tennis courts, swimming pools, Jacuzzis, discos, satellite TV, games rooms, gyms, spas and their own restaurants.
