Where is the best place to stay in Cordoba City?

By Eliana Lorenzo. Jan 31, 2022

The best place to stay in Cordoba City is the neighbourhood of Nueva Cordoba. This area has stately architectural surroundings and is the city´s most cosmopolitan area which is set right in the heart of the city, alongside the historical centre. It is Cordoba´s fashionable quarter and where you will find many independent design shops, antique stores and art shops. You can also wander around the Patio Olmos, which is home to the city´s main shopping centre, complete with cinema, food court and fashion shops.

The city centre is home to the majority of the city´s tourist attractions, such as the San Marín Square or the Iglesia Del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, known as Los Capuchinos. Alongside this you will also find the Paseo del Buen Pastor which offers the city´s most varied and exclusive dining options.

Another option is to stay in the Gûemes neighbourhood, one of Cordoba´s oldest neighbourhoods, which is just a stone’s throw away from both the centre and Nueva Cordoba and known for its cultural offering.

At its epicentre stands the Paseo de las Artes, which on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays welcomes people of all ages who are touring the Güemes cultural circuit, which is full of shopping centres, fairs, artistic bars, restaurants and live music venues. On the map, which shows the most convenient place to stay in Cordoba, Argentina,  you can see a selection of some of the best located hotels.

Where to stay in Cordoba Province

Well, the best way to get to know the province of Cordoba is not to just stay in the city, but to explore around. Cordoba is a true wonderland of natural beauty, with rolling hills and a great variety of rivers, waterfalls, gorges, and hillsides on offer along its different valleys. There is so much country to cover that one of the best ways to do it is in a car. The roads are good and well-marked, and you will find very charming villages scattered throughout the countryside where you can spend one or a few nights to discover and enjoy the atmosphere and nature. If you are looking for more adventure, there are also plenty of campsites and natural clearings to pitch a tent.

Villa Carlos Paz

Villa-Carlos-Paz-The City of Villa Carlos Paz, which is located approximately 35 kilometres from the Capital, is a very popular alternative for staying in Córdoba, especially during the summer season to spend a relaxed weekend in nature. There are plenty of barbecue grilling areas along the rivers and lakes in this region, but you’ll be staying in a town big enough to have everything a city has to offer.

One of the most traditional places to stay in Villa Carlos Paz is in the city centre, where you will find most restaurants and shops. If you are looking for cabins and hotels, you can find many options in front of the lake San Roque, since it has incredible views of the Costanera with the lake in the background that are a true postcard.

Villa General Belgrano

Villa General BelgranoThis town is only 89 km away from the capital of Cordoba, and its accommodation offers are widely varied too. There are classic options, such as the city centre, near bars and shops, while on the other hand, there are also more picturesque and natural alternatives in the tranquillity of the mountains, such as those lodgings that are located on the outskirts, on the hills or facing the river and streams.

A good point to take into account is that the Oktoberfest party is held right here since the origins of this town are of German influence, so skip these days if you are looking for the true essence of the place.

The main spots are the Reartes River and the Molinos Reservoir. You can find outstanding bathing areas, and it is really popular because the weather conditions are optimal at almost all times of the year for windsurfing and kitesurfing.

La Cumbrecita

La-Cumbrecita-La Cumbrecita is the highest town in the province of Córdoba, at 1450 meters above sea level, 118km from Córdoba Capital, and it also belongs to the Calamuchita Valley. Depending on what you are looking for, you can spend just a day or even an entire week. It is also the first pedestrian town in Argentina and being so small everything is close and within walking distance. The town has hotels, inns, and cabin complexes for all tastes, but also there are also some options for camping.

La Cumbrecita is a familiar place, but ideal for all types of travellers who are looking for a bit of tranquillity in a German village where enjoying its gastronomy, breweries, and -especially- pastries, becomes a must in La Cumbrecita. It is an ideal place if you want to enjoy hiking because several trails start from the town to the hills, and it is right in the middle of nature.
