Where is the best area to stay in Cadiz?

If you are going to visit the city of Cadiz, which is truly one of a kind, you should make sure to stay in the old town, the city´s best area to stay. The city has two main areas with good hotel offerings, the Victoria beach area and the old town in the historical centre.
The Victoria beach is one of the best urban beaches in Europe. The beach stretches for more than 3km and offers all the services and leisure activities one would look for in a beach destination. It´s a great option if you are looking to combine beach with city.
However, if you would like to experience the authentic Cadiz, you should stay in the old town. Its narrow streets lead you down into the depths of its ample historical heritage, while the bars and shops are there to tempt us all day long. The Cathedral square is one of the references that can be used to judge if your hotel is near the centre. Many hotels in the centre are housed within old, historical buildings and don´t have space for many rooms, meaning it is best to book early, especially at busy times such as carnival.
If what you want is to enjoy the beach, Cádiz offers one of the best urban beaches in Spain and Europe. You’ll find more than 3 km of fine sand beach, fully equipped with all services, easily accessible and with its chiringuitos, or as you would know them, beach bars, open in the summer.
El Puerto de Santa María is a picturesque town located just 17 km away from the city of Cadiz. With its 6 km of fine golden sand beaches, this charming town is one of the main beach destinations in the province of Cadiz. The town has a long history dating back to the Roman era, and there are plenty of historic sites to visit, such as the 13th-century Castle of San Marcos and the 15th-century Prioral Church.
Chiclana de la Frontera is a popular beach destination located just 24 km away from Cadiz city. It is known for its stunning beaches and the Novo Sancti Petri tourist complex, which has the largest number of hotel beds in the province of Cadiz and the Costa de la Luz. The complex is home to many high-end hotels, golf courses, and luxury residences, making it a perfect destination for those looking for a luxurious stay near the beach.
Further afield, about 50 km, and south of Chiclana de la Frontera is Conil de la Frontera, one of the favorite beach destinations in the province of Cádiz in summer. A very pretty town, with a spectacular beach, full of bars and restaurants to socialize and lots of going on. Beyond the hotels, apartments are in high demand to spend a week or a fortnight in summer.
