Other places to stay in Bariloche
Cerro Catedral
Cerro Catedral is the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere, with 120km of slopes spread out over 600 hectares, making it the ideal place to stay if you are planning to spend your vacation skiing or snowboarding. The area is equipped with all the necessary services, such as supermarkets, pharmacies and shops, endless options for renting ski equipment and a wide range of bars and pubs to enjoy the nightlife when the slopes have closed.
If snow sports are not your thing, or you´re planning on visiting Bariloche out of snow season, Cerro Catedral also offers a variety of adventure activities such as climbing, trekking, or mountain bike tours of its amazing natural scenery. The accommodation options set in the slopes of the Cerro Catedral offer incredible panoramic views of the Andes mountain range, the Nahuel Huapi and Gutiérrez lakes, among many other nearby places to visit, such as the Tronador mountain.
Llao Llao
In one of the most privileged enclaves in Bariloche and surrounded by beautiful lakes, mountains and forests, Villa Llao Llao connects with the city centre by a costal road that is named after the first director of the National Parks: Exequiel Bustillo. His brother founded the exclusive Llao Llao Hotel Resort & Spa in 1939, which is set among the López and Tronador mountain peaks and the Moreno and Nahuel Huapi lakes. This luxury accommodation conserves the natural elegance of this ancient National Heritage site whilst offering all the modern-day services, including various restaurants where you can enjoy the famous Patagonian lamb, an 18-hole golf course, a spa and a variety of different room options.
Gutiérrez Lake
Just 15km from the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, set in a valley surrounded by the Otto, Catedral and De la Ventana mountains, the Gutiérrez lake boasts relatively tepid waters as most of it comes from rainfall in Winter and Spring instead of the melting Winter snow. For that reason, it is one of the most popular destinations for swimming and water sports in summer. The accommodation close to the lake offers a selection of great options for exploring the forest, visiting the area´s smaller beaches or doing some fishing somewhere nice and calm.
Bonita Beach
Bonita beach is located just 8km from the city centre and has everything you could need to enjoy a day in the sun or at the beach: options for renting water sports equipment, such as diving, windsurf and kayaking on the lake, numerous bars, restaurants and trips to see the Huemul, Gallina and Victoria islands. It´s one of the best places to stay in Bariloche in the summer months.
