Where is the best place to stay in Zakynthos?

If you plan to spend your holiday on the Greek Island of Zakynthos, or Zante, as it’s commonly known, you’ll want to know the best place to stay to suit your needs. Families, couples and friends may choose the bustling capital Zakynthos Town on the east coast of the island. It’s a popular cultural centre with historic sites such as the Venetian fortress and the Solomos Museum. The vibrant square has a plethora of shops, bars and tavernas, and nightlife is laid-back and fun for everyone. If your idea of a great holiday is lounging on golden sandy beaches and dancing until dawn in a nightclub, Laganas may be for you. Laganas on the south coast is the most popular resort on Zakynthos with groups of friends and young couples. Located 15 minutes south of Zakynthos Town and 10 minutes from the airport, this bustling resort is home to unspoilt beaches, souvenir shops and myriad nightclubs set around The Strip.
Just 15 minutes north of the airport on the east coast of Zakynthos is Tsilivi with its Blue Flag golden sandy beach and crystal-clear waters. This resort is popular with families, couples and friends, offering a range of water sport activities, several beach bars and boat rides to Smugglers Cove and the Blue Caves. There’s a fun water park to keep children entertained and a variety of tavernas and grill restaurants featuring traditional dancing and live music.
Vasilikos is a popular destination on Zakynthos on the southern peninsula of the island less than half an hour’s drive from the airport and Zakynthos Town. This peaceful resort is flanked by mountains, lush greenery, olive groves and quaint villages, making this a great area to stay for nature lovers and those who wish to immerse themselves in Greek island living.

The charming village of Kerion, or Keri as it’s also known, is the perfect place to stay for a romantic holiday. It sits just half an hour from the airport on the south west coast of Zakynthos. A popular area for agriculture, it’s famous for its olive oil and regional wines.
